Jim Bennett – Director

Sergeant Jim Bennett is a dedicated officer who has served in various roles within the Community Policing Division and Senior Management of the Blood Tribe Police Service (BTPS). He was in charge of the Conducted Energy Weapon program, logistics, and training, and later held acting roles as the Staff Sergeant of Community Policing and Professional Standards Unit. He has also been recognized for his work in Community Policing and Crime Prevention, receiving awards such as the Distinguished Conduct Medal and Alberta Emergency Services Medal. In addition, he has been an active volunteer, serving on various committees and organizations such as the Rotary District Indigenous Engagement committee, Alberta Hate Crimes Commission, and Special Olympics, and has been recognized as an Indigenous ally and voice for justice and equity. He has also volunteered over 8000 hours, mainly helping the homeless and less fortunate population of the Blood Reserve, with food, clothing, and monetary drives. He also shares his knowledge of First Nations rights and ways of living by giving his “Facts” talk to various groups across Alberta.
