Mission Statement
The Alberta Farm Safety Centre promotes safe agricultural practices based on concern for the welfare of individuals, families and communities. To this end, educational materials, workshops, displays, and events are developed that involve people on-site and throughout Alberta.
Our Goals
- Focus public attention on agricultural safety issues
- Reduce farm-related injuries and deaths
Guiding Principles
- To seek out and address current and future agricultural safety issues and provide programs and facilities to address these issues.
- To provide programming that is exciting, informative, and educational and that uses the most appropriate means to convey safety messages to a variety of audiences. To actively extend Centre programs to the public.
- To provide a rural focus for and encourage close co-operation with other heath and safety related groups.
- To co-operate with both the private and public sector in fulfilling our mission.

1. Safety Smarts Totals:
2007-2008 school year
Sept to April - 24,499
rural students taught in 1,196 individual classrooms.
71,548 kilometers traveled to bring our farm safety messages to a total of 244 rural schools.
